Just saw this commercial. Glad to see the ladies of roller derby are getting some commercial time; if only for a couple seconds. Anyone know who these lucky skaters are? Hopefully they are the real deal and not just actors.

Seasons Change
Fall is a time for change or transition. If you’re lucky enough to live where the leaves turn colors, you’re able to walk out the door and see bright reds and golds fill the once green trees. The leaves are the obvious reminders of the season, but there are other signs. The air gets cooler [...]
Fowling
In a game of Fowling, or football bowling, two teams compete to knock down all of their opponent’s bowling pins using an NFL football. The game is played in singles or doubles and begins with a coin-toss. The winner has the option to take the first throw or call which Fowling lane they want to [...]
Wiffle Hurling
Any game that fields thirty players with wooden sticks and helmets is okay in my book. Hurling is an ancient Gaelic sport (perhaps the world’s oldest field game) that has reached far beyond the enchanted fields of Ireland, cropping up in Europe and the Americas over the past four hundred years. Just plain don’t understand the allure of watching a bar brawl within a cage, but I also don’t like putting gel in my hair and wearing Ed Hardy shirts. Maybe I’m not their [...]
Piece by Piece: Building the Ultimate Kickballer
Like a finely tuned Frankenstein, you can find him terrorizing playground diamonds and shredding up scoreboards. The score won’t matter. He will win; it’s just a matter of by how many runs. He’s above the ironic nicknames. His jersey will never bear the numbers 69, 420 or 007. You will never find him dressed up [...]
Are You Ready for Some Kickball?
Believe it or not, kickball season is right around the corner. You don’t want to be last picked, do you? Whether casual or competitive, a captain or a teammate, here are some tips that will have you all ready to go for the upcoming season. Remember, no one becomes a champion overnight, it takes time [...]
The 5 Best Forgotten Playground Games
While everyone is aware of the childhood sports that adults have embraced with more than a shred of irony, such as kickball and dodgeball, I thought I’d take a look at five forgotten playground activities. 5. TAG Once a playground staple, this game is probably best left to the kids, as it requires constant running. [...]
